Sihanoukville, Cambodia
Sihanoukville (locally known as Kompong Som) is a seaport city situated in southwest Cambodia. Its international port, distribution services, and status as one of the country’s most economically dynamic region has enhanced the city’s potential to be an ideal hub for trade and tourism in Southeast Asia. Pristine waters, relaxed sandy beaches, combined with a tropical climate make Sihanoukville a haven for local and international tourist alike. In 2011, the city was accepted into the Club of the Most Beautiful Bays in the World. Not surprisingly, the country’s Ministry of Tourism have begun aggressively revitalizing tourism initiatives as international developers expand resort complexes along the coastline and nearby islands. Sihanoukville is just couple of hours drive from the capital city of Phnom Penh and a short 50 minute flight to the famed Angkor Wat complex and other temples in Siem Reap. |
