Vision Project x VOSH

Jan. 3-9, 2016

In January of 2016, an adventurous team of Pacific Northwest residents made an international journey to aid rural towns thousands of miles from Seattle. In partnership with VOSH Northwest we hoped to bring change to lives of others less fortunate.

After months of intensive planning and fundraising, SEASIH was able to coordinate an event to benefit the needs of families in rural townships of Kompong Chnang and Sihanoukville in Cambodia.

Over 1,200 patients were evaluated and treated by optometrists from Bellevue, WA. Eye exams, prescription glasses, and cataract surgeries were provided onsite at each location. SEASIH's goal was to reach at least 800 patients and in turn exceeded our projections.

The volunteers' efforts were recognized by King Norodom Sihamoni for their humanitarian efforts and rewarded each with a symbolic gift.
