The Seattle-Sihanoukville Sister City (Sea-Sih) is Seattle's twenty first sister city. The primary missions of our non-profit charitable organization is to increase understanding and to develop cultural awareness and sensitivity, educational, trade and commercial ties between the people of the City of Seattle, Washington (USA) and the people of the City of Sihanoukville, Cambodia.

FIRST ANNUAL College Scholarship 2008

Thanks, in part, to the generosity of our members, we are able to offer a scholarship of $1,000 to the winner of our essay contest to help offset the costs of college. This is an unrestricted scholarship and may be used for any college related expense. 

The contest is open to any student of Cambodian heritage who will be enrolled as a full time student in any accredited college or university, beginning Fall of 2008.

 The contestant may choose to answer one of two questions in an essay of no more than 1,200 words with a minimum of 600 words.

These are Two essay topics to choose from:

         1. How do you see your education being a benefit to the Cambodian community ?

        2. If you could choose one service project to do in Cambodia, what would it be, why and how would you make it work?

 

All entries must be submitted via our website. The winner will be chosen and the award made by July 31st, 2008.
